Job Description
Overview:
This is an entry to early mid-level position that works with established Environmental and Safety professionals. In this position, the chosen applicant will continue to work on gaining knowledge in leadership development, managing projects and programs, coordinating, and the effective implementation of Environmental, Health and Safety programs and processes at the Somerset Mill. This position will be a combination of field work and office work.
Responsibilities:
Assist Safety Professionals with the management of the site Industrial Hygiene programs.
Assist Environmental Professionals with the overall mill environmental compliance with air and water permits.
Assist Safety Professionals with the collection and management of all mandatory Safety & Health data collection, reporting, follow-up tracking, and interpretation.
Assist Environmental Professionals with inspection and sample collection required as part of the mill's stormwater program.
Assist Safety Professionals with Emergency Response Team and related programs to ensure emergency prevention, preparedness, and response programs are effective.
Assist Environmental Professionals with required Universal Waste, Hazards Waste, and Oil tank inspection programs.
Assist Safety leadership in developing, managing, coordinating and implementing site Health and Safety programs.
Assist Environmental Professionals with environmental risk assessments for new systems being proposed for the mill.
Assist Safety professionals with investigating safety concerns in the mill.
Assist Environmental professionals with reporting and documentation for the air and water programs.
Provide on-call and/or shift coverage as needed.
Entry Requirements:
College degree (Health and Safety or Engineering preferred).
Currently looking for either an Environmental or Safety professional with 1-4 years' experience or 5 years of applicable experience
Looking for a candidate with an industry background.
Special Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Ability to read and understand Federal, State, and safety and health regulations.
Strong passion for the Environmental, Health, and Safety fields.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with the Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, & Power Point).
Data-driven decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
