Full Time SummaryThe Health and Safety Assistant is responsible for assisting the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of employees and the compliance of the company with relevant safety regulations. They will be responsible for assisting with safety audits, training programs, incident investigations, and safety reporting. The Health and Safety Assistant will work closely with employees and management to promote a safety culture within the company. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist the Health and Safety Manager in developing, implementing and maintaining safety programs, policies, and proceduresConduct safety audits, inspections and assessments to identify and address safety hazards and risksAssist in investigating safety incidents, accidents and near misses, and prepare reports on findings and recommendationsAssist in the development and delivery of safety training programs to employeesMaintain safety records and databases, and prepare safety reports for managementKeep up to date with changes in safety regulations, laws and standards, and communicate these changes to management and employees Educational background / Work experienceBachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health and safety, or a related fieldCompletion of safety certification programs such as OSHA 30-hour General Industry or equivalent1-2 years of experience in a safety-related role in the transportation and logistics industry Skills & CompetenciesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret dataAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficient in Microsoft Office and other software applications related to safety Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of safety regulations, laws and standards specific to the transportation and logistics industryExperience working with safety management systems Language skillsFluency in English Computer LiteracyProficient in Microsoft Office At Will EmploymentDSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as "at will" employees.
