Department Math/Science Campus Location Escanaba Pay Rate Min Salary $660 per credit Max Salary $857 per credit FTE 0.4 Full-time/Part-time Part-Time Position Type Faculty Job Summary/Basic Function This faculty member teaches Wildland and Rural courses at the Escanaba campus. Minimum Qualifications Meet NWCG Instructor Qualification Standards Minimum of five field seasons, or portions of seasons, working in a fireline position at a firefighter type 2 level (FFT2) or higher fireline qualification. Experience as both a hand crew and engine crew member is preferred. Fireline experience should be in both local/regional fire settings (upper Midwest) and western fire settings. Single resource boss. Prior training and experience as a trainer/instructor. Commitment to quality instruction in a learner-centered environment with the goal of consistently improving student success. Commitment to the community college mission and philosophy. Ability to provide diverse teaching and learning approaches to diverse student populations. Demonstrated skill in effective written and oral communications. Demonstrated literacy in information technology and computer use. Willingness to learn and implement new teaching strategies as needed to enhance student success.
