Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Health Occupation Assistant to join our team. This position will assist the teacher in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. Requirements High School diploma required. CNA required Ability to work with students and adults of various personalities and deal with conflict. Possess sound emotional judgement. Care taking training or skills preferred, ability to lift 50 lbs. Willingness to commit to working with students with physical and intellectual limitations. Demonstrated aptitude of competence for assigned responsibilities. Experience as a CNA. Minimum 1,000 relevant working hours. Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Responsibilities Under supervision of a licensed teacher, prepare for classroom activities. Works with individual students to reinforce learning of materials/skills initially introduced by the teacher. Provide and maintain positive public relations with students, staff, and community. Perform other duties assigned by the building principal. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information. Regular and reliable attendance. Job shadowing at health care facilities. Physical Demands Lower body strength to stand and walk throughout the day. Verbal stamina to articulate clearly and with appropriate volume throughout the day.
