A Patient Safety Specialist develops and implements programs and procedures to reduce errors and improve patient safety at a medical facility. Reviews patient data, identifies potential risks and hazards, develops employee safety training and monitors compliance with safety regulations.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handling Equipment Trainer is responsible for ensuring students are properly trained, evaluated, and certified to safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, aerial equipment, and other material handling equipment in accordance with operational standards, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Develop and deliver classroom, online, and hands-on training programs for operators of forklifts and other material handling equipment 2. Evaluate trainee knowledge, skills, and performance through written, verbal, and hands on assessments 3. Certify and recertify forklift and other material handling equipment operators in accordance with applicable regulations 4. Ensure training programs remain current with regulatory requirements, equipment changes, and operational needs 5. Maintain accurate training records, certifications, evaluations, and regulatory documentation 6. Attend OEM and other required training programs to maintain technical expertise and instructional competency 7. Serve as a subject matter expert on material handling equipment operation, safety requirements, and operator certification processes 8. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the Company. Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience 1. High school diploma or GED required 2. Associates degree or technical education in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Education or a related field preferred 3. Previous experience in sales 4. 3-5 years of experience operating material handling equipment preferred 5. 1+ years of conducting employee training and competency evaluations 6. Knowledge of OSHA Powered Industrial Truck standards (29 CFR 1910.178) 7. OSHA compliant forklift Train-The-Trainer qualification and applicable equipment certifications preferred Skills 1.
Language:
a. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently b. Strong interpersonal communication skills c. Ability to communicate safety procedures, operating instructions, and operational policies clearly and effectively d. Ability to read and interpret operating manuals, safety regulations, training materials, and technical documentation e. Ability to provide verbal and written feedback regarding trainee performance and competency 2.
Math:
a. Ability to calculate figures and amounts with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, number comparison, and percentages b. Ability to calculate training scores, test results, and competency ratings c. Ability to calculate load weights and weight distribution d. Ability to interpret load charts and equipment capacity ratings 3.
Computer:
a. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) b. Ability to create, maintain, and organize electronic training records and compliance documentation c. Ability to create training materials and presentations, spreadsheets, charts, and reports d. Proficiency in using videoconferencing and virtual training platforms such as
