Job Description:

• Follows the Quality Manual, all NAMSA SOPs, and Process documents.
• Primarily involved in the sanitation of equipment and rooms used in support of the welfare and husbandry activities of animals using the rack washer or manually using low and high-pressure hoses as needed.
• Prepares clean housing for sanitations, receipt, or specialized housing as needed.
• Maintains the industrial equipment used in the sanitation processes and sanitizes other equipment as needed.
• Maintains a clean work environment.
• Receives incoming materials, verifies and scans packing slips, and maintains the receiving area.
• Works as a team to meet the equipment needs of the husbandry Associates.
• Documents all required tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies:

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous animal handling and kennel maintenance experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Outlook preferred

Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to, and must handle and come in contact with, a variety of large and small livestock, domestic and laboratory animals, is regularly exposed to non-weather wet conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals, and is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

The employee is occasionally required to work with radioactive isotopes and in a Bio-Safety-Level 2 (BSL2) environment, and is occasionally exposed to gasses such as CO2 and isoflurane. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fluoroscopy, blood borne pathogens and zoonotic diseases.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and frequently loud. Hearing protection is required in designated areas and when performing specific tasks.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, use hands, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to grip and squeeze with hands, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, or crawl.
• The employee is regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

The employee is occasionally required to physically restrain up to 80 pounds unassisted, and to maneuver and/or restrain up to 220 pounds with the assistance of other personnel and/or other maneuvering/restraining devices. The compensation grade range for this position is: $15.24 - $29.57 -

Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
