Our client is a professional organization seeking a skilled Safety Specialist to support employees in all aspects of safety.Job Description:
The Safety Specialist plays a key role in promoting a safe work environment by developing, implementing, and supporting safety programs that protect employees and reduce workplace incidents. This position focuses on training, field observation, incident review, and continuous improvement of safety practices.Key Responsibilities:
Conduct reviews of workplace injuries and vehicle incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. Provide guidance to employees and contractors to reinforce safe work practices. Observe field operations to assess safety conditions and recommend improvements to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs, including demonstrations of safety equipment and facilitation of tests such as respirator fit, hearing conservation, forklift operation, and excavation safety. Participate in monthly safety team meetings and support team leaders with leadership training to strengthen overall safety performance. Maintain accurate safety records for reporting and compliance purposes.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with at least two years of relevant safety experience; or High school diploma/equivalent with at least six years of relevant safety experience. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences Ability to perform basic statistical and analytical calculations (ratios, percentages, etc.) Advanced proficiency in software applications for creating reports, documents, and presentations Valid driver's licenseWork Environment:
