Locations:
Plainview, NE & Bloomfield, NE Shift:
1st shift: Monday - Friday | 7am - 3:30pm
Pay:
$19.35/hour Job Summary Aventure Staffing is seeking a dedicated Avian Care Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for all daily aspects of the poultry houses, ensuring a safe, clean, and high-quality environment while adhering strictly to safety, animal care, and food quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Flock House Maintenance:
Provide layer hens with continuous access to feed and water; monitor temperatures; clean facilities; maintain dry floor litter to 1 inch; and handle house turnover when flocks arrive or depart. •
Equipment & Facility Operations:
Keep feed chains, egg belts, lights, fans, motors, and protective guards clean and in full working order. Perform basic maintenance and report major repairs immediately. •
Data & Documentation:
Keep precise daily UEP records regarding water, feed, mortality, ventilation, and flock population metrics. •
Flock Care & Movements:
Perform daily mortality runs (handling up to two houses on weekends) and assist with moving birds into and out of houses safely. Requirements & Physical Demands •
Lifting:
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. •
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand and walk long building stretches for most of the shift; bend, stoop, crouch, reach, climb ladders, and navigate stairs safely. •
Environment:
Comfortable working in varied temperatures, high-dust environments, heights, and noisy indoor/outdoor conditions using basic tools, handheld blowers, or power washers. •
Experience & Skills:
Must be able to read and follow safety rules, complete routine report forms, perform basic math operations and solve task-oriented issues. Benefits Weekly Pay! Direct Deposit Available.
