Job Description
Job Summary This position is responsible for planning, establishing, executing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Must be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with production and maintenance teams. Key Responsibilities Partner with organizational leadership to educate, interpret, maintain, and comply with all applicable federal, state and local EHS regulations. Align EHS goals and strategies with customer-focused organizational goals. Consistently demonstrate a 'team first' approach to conducting training, audits, and inspections in all areas and then develop corrective action plans as needed. Proactive approach to engage and intervene in real time to correct unsafe behaviors and simultaneously coach and educate employees on possible alternative actions. Provide subject matter expertise on Water (waste, storm) and Waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) Materials. Partner with organizational leadership, customers, vendors, and others to build mutually beneficial relationships centered on creating the functionally safest work environment for our employees and visitors. Lead Continuous Improvement initiative regarding EHS policies and programs. Investigate injuries from a root cause perspective and collaborate with operations to offer recommendations to eliminate repetitive occurrences. Share incident facts with organizational leadership and Safety Committee to help create a culture of safety accountability. Coordinate and communicate with HR to understand Workers Compensation Insurance Claims to help injured employees find the safest and most effective path to return to full duty status. Manage
