About Us:
ZOFS Engineering and Land Surveying P.C. is a consulting firm known for delivering top-tier Resident Engineering Inspection, Construction Management and Civil Design services. Operating across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, we take pride in our commitment to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction. ZOFS Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C. is seeking qualified Construction Safety Specialists to support construction safety oversight for facilities throughout New York and New Jersey. The selected candidates will work under the supervision of the Construction Management Division and support public client projects This role is responsible for performing technical and administrative safety duties to help ensure contractors comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Local fire and safety regulations, standards, and procedures. The position will also support the enforcement of construction safety and fire safety programs at Port Authority and leaseholder construction sites.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience, including accident prevention and investigation on construction sites or related fields. Valid NYC DOB Site Safety Supervisor Card / SST Card. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification. Valid driver's license. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated experience on major capital construction projects, including heavy civil infrastructure construction. Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, including
OSHA 1926
Standards, NYC DOB Code, FDNY requirements, local laws, DOT, DEP, and other applicable regulatory agency requirements. Familiarity with National Fire Codes, NFPA standards, NYC and New Jersey Fire Codes, Rules of the City of New York, and FDNY operations and procedures. Ability to evaluate contractor construction safety and fire safety programs and provide technical recommendations based on findings. Knowledge of hazard recognition and assessment, incident and accident investigation, reporting, root cause analysis, and Job Hazard Analysis. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with OSHA and FDNY inspectors, construction inspectors, contractors, management, safety professionals, workers, and stakeholders. Experience using computer-based safety software for managing and tracking project hazards, incidents, and program documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred but not required: CHST certification or another recognized construction safety credential. Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or a safety-related field from an accredited institution. Experience with OCIP and/or CCIP projects. Prior experience working on Port Authority projects.
