Job Description

Job Description:
We are seeking an SSHO (Site Safety & Health Officer) for a leading federal construction contractor supporting large-scale design-build projects. This individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive safety programs on high-value projects, ensuring full compliance with federal safety regulations.
Day-to-Day:
Oversee and enforce site-wide safety program in compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections, and hazard assessments Prepare and review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and site activities Investigate incidents/near misses and implement corrective actions Maintain safety logs, reports, and compliance documentation Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and federal safety representatives Lead safety audits and ensure all work aligns with federal and company safety standards
Must-Haves:
4-6+ years of experience as an SSHO or Construction Safety Officer Experience supporting federal construction projects (USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, DHS, CBP strongly preferred)
EM 385-1-1
safety compliance experience Experience overseeing safety on projects valued at $10M+ Background working with a general contractor or subcontractor (civil, electrical, mechanical, structural, etc.) Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard analysis (AHA/JHA), and incident reporting Experience managing safety documentation, audits, and compliance reporting
Plusses:
OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 CHST, SSHO, or other safety certifications Experience supporting border, security, or infrastructure projects Familiarity with Bluebeam for safety markups/reviews
Pay:
$43.00 - $57.00 per hour
