Role Overview We are hiring a day shift EHS Professional to provide field-based, on-shift safety oversight for a major data center operation in the Reno / USA Parkway, Nevada area. This is a long term, W2 full time employee role with benefits. This is a hands-on safety role for someone comfortable working directly with operations and field teams, identifying hazards in real time, communicating and enforcing safety expectations, and maintaining a strong site safety program. The role has significant responsibility for fall protection, equipment and work-area safety, hazard analysis, inspections, permit-to-work compliance, incident investigation, and OSHA compliance. This is not an office-only EHS position . The EHS Professional will be expected to maintain a visible presence in the field and actively support safe execution of onsite work.

Key Responsibilities Field Oversight:

Maintain a constant presence in the field, monitoring crews to ensure 100% compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Auditing & Inspections:

Conduct daily and weekly site audits and safety inspections; identify workplace hazards and implement immediate corrective actions.

Electrical Safety:

Provide specialized oversight on electrical safety and general construction hazards.

Meeting Facilitation:

Attend and/or lead daily and weekly safety meetings with field teams and site leadership.

Task Planning:

Assist in real-time field task planning and JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) reviews to ensure crews are prepared for evolving site conditions.

Incident Investigation:

Participate in the investigation of near-misses and incidents, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive measures.

Nimble Documentation:

Handle essential field reporting, permits, and signing requirements without getting bogged down in excessive administrative "red tape."

Collaboration:

Work closely with production supervisors, maintenance teams, and employees to integrate safety practices into daily operations. This role may also work with other organizational peer groups. Support resolution of complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices. Requirements & Qualifications 2+ years of directly relevant EHS experience in construction, industrial, and field-based safety environments OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification and current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 Hands-on experience with JHAs/JSAs, confined space, LOTO, PPE, field inspections, and fall protection Experience with incident, near-miss, and/or chemical-release investigation and corrective actions Experience maintaining safety documentation, training records, SDS information, OSHA logs, or similar records Experience supporting emergency drills and emergency-response activities Ability to work fully onsite at USA Parkway with meaningful flexibility regarding shift assignment Preferred 3+ years of directly relevant EHS experience Data center or mission-critical EHS experience Large-scale construction or industrial facility experience Direct experience with fall protection systems, anchor points, tarping operations, or elevated-access activities Experience administering or auditing permit-to-work programs, including hot work, confined space, LOTO, elevated work, and excavation Industrial hygiene monitoring involving noise, dust, heat stress, or similar exposures Emergency response coordination Experience monitoring weather or environmental conditions and supporting stop-work decisions EPA and DOT compliance knowledge Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field CHST, STSC, ASP, GSP, or CSP certification Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer Already located in Reno/Sparks, elsewhere in Nevada, or the surrounding region A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Equivalent directly relevant experience is acceptable. Skills Knowledge of OSHA general industry regulations and industry standards. Demonstrated excellence in communication and training, with proven ability to engage employees across all organizational levels and effectively facilitate large group sessions. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Comfortable working outside in the elements and navigating a large, active construction site. Ability to stay nimble as new procedures and site conditions change rapidly. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Perform regular facility walkthroughs involving prolonged standing, walking, and site movement Inspect confined spaces and hard-to-reach areas as needed Identify and respond to safety hazards using visual, auditory, and verbal cues Lift and carry safety equipment or signage (up to 50 lbs.) Must be able to wear all required PPE in the work environment (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, protective footwear). Respond effectively to emergencies, including evacuations and incident support Work Environment This role is based at a major data center project (USA Parkway). Applicants should be aware of the commute (approx. 25 miles/45-90+ minutes from Reno/Sparks depending on traffic). Living in Carson City, Virginia City, Silver Springs, etc. could minimize commute significantly.
