Salary Range:
$89,695 - $134,545 Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and trainingJob Summary:
Responsible for managing the sanitation team and all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and food safe environment of the facility and processing equipment on a daily basis or as scheduled. This position oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of continually improving the sanitation food safety programs. Including revising the Master Sanitation Schedule, work instructions, training documentation and compliance audits. All activities of SSOP's will be built to meet the requirements of company standards, Regulatory Codes and best practices as set forth by auditing firms and customer requirements.Job Requirements:
- Provides leadership to the team to ensure standard operator practices and GMP's are understood and followed as well as ensures that training is in place for all members of the team.
- Management of a food safety personnel to include a supervisor and team of individuals who support the sanitation of the plant.
- Directs and coordinates all daily sanitation activities within the manufacturing facility.
- Maintenance of GMP provisions that relate to cleanliness, food safety and pest control within the facility.
- Coordinates cleaning and sanitation efforts to support the Environmental Monitoring Program.
- Monitors employee practices and plant conditions to support a pest free environment.
- Key contact with Chemical Supplier, ordering chemicals, project coordination and SOP support.
- Responsible for maintaining a supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with FIFRA, OSHA, and FDA regulations.
- Annual verification all CIP systems.
- Annual verification and validation of all SSOP.
- Development, Implementation and training of SSOP's to meet all applicable regulations and PPE requirements.
- Responsibility for the efficacy and execution of all Master Sanitation Schedules.
- Manages sanitation operations to maintain the highest rating possible on all annual audits and inspections.
- Develops and implements new methods, procedures, and systems to improve quality and food safety performance.
- Maintains a fair and professional work environment that focuses the business objectives, but also balances quality of work- life factors for employees.
- Develops and maintains training and development programs that support key performance goals for the Company, as well as provide a satisfying and rewarding work environment for employees.
- Ensure sanitation efforts to support the Food Safety culture within the facility.
- Manages operation to comply with all applicable safety laws and regulation, as well as Company Safety Policies, procedures and standards. Communicate these to employees on a periodic basis.
- Responsible for verification of sanitation documentation, training and development of the sanitation team and process improvement of systems and procedures.
- Assist operations in managing supervision when required.
- Effectively communicates to all employees and conducts audits on all shifts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. degree in the field of science (i.e., Biology, Food Science or Technology) or related field and/or applicable industry experience.
- 3 years minimum experience in food sanitation supervision, preferably in the food or dairy manufacturing industry.
- Experience with system CIP processing systems.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation policies, procedures and requirements.
- Strong quantitative skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to think critically.
- Working knowledge of HACCP and SQF type programs a plus.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
