Full-Time Position Overview Mecca Talent is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Trainer to join a growing precision manufacturing operation in Beavercreek, Ohio. This is a unique hands-on role combining CNC machining, employee training and development, and workplace safety leadership . The CNC Mill Trainer will be responsible for training, mentoring, and developing apprentices and new hires in CNC machining fundamentals and shop practices. This individual will support the company's apprenticeship program while reinforcing expectations around safety, quality, productivity, and performance . The position will also remain hands-on, operating CNC equipment and supporting production when needed. During slower training and production periods, this individual will take a lead role in supporting and driving the facility's safety program , helping ensure safety remains an active part of the company's day-to-day culture. What You'll Do Train apprentices and new hires in CNC machining fundamentals as well as more advanced machining tasks. Provide hands-on instruction in CNC machine operation and basic programming concepts . Teach employees how to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Train employees on the proper use of precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools . Mentor and coach employees on technical skills, productivity, workplace expectations, and professional development. Observe and document trainee performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback. Support and execute the company's CNC apprenticeship and employee development programs. Operate CNC equipment as needed to support production requirements. Work closely with production leadership to identify training needs and improve employee capabilities. Assist with recruiting and outreach efforts involving local high schools and potential apprenticeship candidates. Interview prospective students and participate in the hiring and selection process. Travel up to approximately 10% for training, recruiting, or program support. Safety Leadership Responsibilities In addition to training and machining responsibilities, this position will help lead the company's safety program, particularly during slower training or production periods .
Responsibilities may include:
Promote and reinforce safe work practices throughout the manufacturing facility. Help identify potential workplace hazards and opportunities for improvement. Conduct or coordinate employee safety training and refresher training. Assist with safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety communication. Support documentation of safety training and employee participation. Work with supervisors and management to address unsafe conditions or behaviors. Help develop a strong, proactive safety culture across the operation. Reinforce proper PPE, machine safety, housekeeping, and safe machining practices. Serve as a visible safety resource for employees on the production floor. The original position specifically calls for the trainer to promote and enforce safety and quality standards and requires an understanding of safety standards within a machining environment. What We're Looking For CNC & Manufacturing Knowledge CNC machining experience with the knowledge and ability consistent with a CNC Level I Machinist or higher . Strong understanding of CNC machine operation and basic programming concepts. Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T fundamentals . Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment. Understanding of manufacturing processes, machine shop workflows, quality expectations, and machining safety. Training & Leadership Skills Ability to effectively train and mentor employees with different levels of experience. Comfortable providing both classroom-style instruction and hands-on machine training. Strong communication and coaching skills. Ability to evaluate employee performance and identify additional training needs. Organized and capable of documenting employee training and development. Ability to manage multiple trainees and priorities at the same time. Willingness to adapt training methods based on different learning styles. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on manufacturing position.
