Job Overview Join our team as a School Van Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students. In this energetic and responsible role, you will operate school vans and specialized vehicles to transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips. Your dedication will help foster a positive and secure environment for young learners while adhering to all transportation safety regulations. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' daily lives through safe and courteous driving. Duties Safely operate school vans, in accordance with traffic laws and company policies Assist students with boarding, disembarking, and wheelchair assistance as needed, ensuring their safety at all times Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and emergency stop protocols Maintain clear communication with school staff, parents, and dispatchers regarding route changes or delays Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and safety equipment Manage student behavior through positive behavior management techniques while ensuring passenger discipline is maintained Complete accurate logs of routes, mileage, incidents, and vehicle maintenance reports Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle type Experience prefered, but will train in van driving or school van operation; experience working with children highly desirable Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at state and local levels Certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with emergency response procedures for transportation incidents Ability to assist students or handling equipment safely Excellent communication skills in English; ability to handle child discipline and behavior management effectively Strong understanding of school policies related to student safety and transportation protocols Embark on a rewarding journey where your skills directly contribute to the safety and well-being of students.
