As a Medical Assistant - Occupational Health, you will have the opportunity to support the onboarding of new caregivers and address ongoing health needs for existing caregivers. You will also support patients. In this role, you'll be responsible for drawing blood and working alongside a team of occupational health professionals, including Nurses and Patient Service Specialists. In this role, you'll benefit from working closely with a leader who is focused on caregiver health and development. A caregiver in this position works swing shifts from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This position will rotate shifts between Marymount Sports Health Center and Main Campus. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Utilize medical and administrative skills to support patients and caregivers. Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assist with performing assessments and treatments. Gather and update information related to health maintenance and specimen collection. Document patient care. Identify medication changes and update allergies at each visit. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administer specific medications under the direction of a physician. Maintain exam rooms, equipment and medical supplies. Assist in pre-visit planning and updating health maintenance tabs. Complete filing, reception duties, scheduling, data entry and patient registration. Travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting Program Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered Demonstrated clinical proficiency Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Medical Assistant (MA) Certification Successful completion of a

Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting. Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.

Medium Work:

Requires full body motion including handling and lifting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or moving 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range Minimum hourly:
