SUMMARY As a Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our construction operations. You'll work closely with our field crews to ensure safety protocols and procedures have been discussed and implemented effectively, conduct safety training, and promote a culture of safety excellence. Your focus will be on preventing accidents, injuries, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, customer, and company safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Conduct daily on-site safety inspections and audits.
  • Provide safety training to field personnel.
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss situations.
  • Implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with our safety manager(s) and safety director to ensure safety compliance.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics.
  • Promote a safety-first culture among all team members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Strong use of spelling, composition, and grammar.
  • Critical thinking, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Construction experience preferred, but not required. Progressive experience in a safety role is highly valued.
  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 10-Hour Certification, at a minimum, with the ability to obtain an OSHA 30-Hour Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Incident Investigation/Root Cause Analysis knowledge (TapRooT and/or 5-Why methods) is preferred, but not required.
  • Obtain a valid drivers license.
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
