Experience:
Mid Level Salary:
$70,000 - $85,000 per year Job Details - We are seeking a hands-on Environmental Specialist to lead and drive our day-to-day environmental compliance programs. This is a "boots on the ground," plant-floor role—you will spend the majority of your time out on the shop floor conducting walk-throughs, working directly with front-line operations, and ensuring strict adherence to environmental protocols rather than sitting behind a desk.
Responsibilities and Duties Environmental Stewardship & Field Execution:
Champion a culture of environmental compliance and active stewardship. Spend significant time on the shop floor conducting regular environmental walk-throughs, inspections, and audits. Air & Waste Compliance (Core Focus): Manage complex environmental regulatory and permit requirements, with a heavy emphasis on Title V Air Permits and RCRA hazardous waste management (preferably for a Large Quantity Generator).
Water Management:
Oversee stormwater and wastewater permitting, monitoring, and compliance activities.
ISO Program Management:
Lead facility engagement and continuous improvement for
ISO 14001
environmental management standards.
Reporting & Documentation:
Manage all environmental record-keeping, regulatory reporting, and compliance documentation.
Incident Investigations & Corrective Actions:
Lead environmental incident investigations, driving straight to root causes and implementing effective, long-lasting corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Training & Collaboration:
Lead compliance training sessions, collaborate closely with operations, and serve as an active partner to site leadership on environmental initiatives.
Qualifications / Skills

Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of dedicated environmental management experience within an industrial, heavy-manufacturing setting.
Technical Expertise:
Deep working knowledge of RCRA, Title V Air Permits, and stormwater/wastewater regulations.
Standards:
Direct experience implementing and maintaining
ISO 14001
standards.
Work Style:
A true field-oriented professional who prefers plant-floor walk-throughs and active operations engagement over desk-bound administrative work.
