Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join our Sustainable Operations team in the Newtown, PA. This role involves approximately 75% fieldwork and 25% office work. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with asbestos, lead-based paint, hazardous building materials, indoor air quality and mold, industrial hygiene exposure monitoring, building characterization assessments, soil and water sampling, project oversight, and report preparation. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience and hold the licenses and credentials required for the role. Arcadis will provide specific training. As a Consultant at Arcadis, you will make an impact by collaborating with colleagues and contributing to a diverse range of projects. In this role, you will help drive innovation, strengthen technical expertise within the Industrial Hygiene practice, and support a dynamic team serving a variety of market sectors. This position also offers strong opportunities for professional growth based on your skills and initiative. In addition, you will mentor and be mentored by existing staff to help expand Industrial Hygiene Services Role accountabilities: As an Industrial Hygiene Specialist, you will complete inspections, bulk sampling abatement oversite, air monitoring and assessments of various types of projects, including but not limited to manufacturing plants, warehouses, public and private buildings, schools, and residential homes. You will also assist with reports for projects completed using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other various programs as well as scoping projects and preparing proposals with senior staff members. Conduct asbestos and lead-based paint surveys and support abatement projects, indoor air quality and mold investigations, mold and water damage remediation, ventilation assessments, and the development and review of health and safety plans (HASPs).- Work in a client-focused consulting environment with an emphasis on industrial hygiene, including asbestos, lead-based paint, hazardous building materials management, indoor air quality and mold evaluations, and chemical exposure assessments.
- Perform inspections and surveys for asbestos, lead, mold and water intrusion, indoor air quality, and other regulated building materials.
- Coordinate with agencies, management, staff, and subcontractors to define project scope and schedules.
- Conduct advanced technical surveys and oversee subcontractor work.
- Accurately document field activities using the provided tools.
- Review, interpret, and evaluate field observations and laboratory data.
- Prepare technical memoranda, summary reports, and other client deliverables.
- Receive technical and business mentorship from senior members of the EH&S consulting team.
- Mentor and support junior staff within the Industrial Hygiene group.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in a science related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the professional services or consulting business.
- State specific asbestos training and licensure.
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulations for asbestos, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 40-hour
HAZWOPER
- Asbestos Safety Technician (AST) license in New Jersey
- Experience with report preparation
- Industry recognized certification in industrial hygiene (e.

) and/or indoor environmental or air quality consulting (e.g.CIEC, CIAQP
