Job Summary A Safety Intern may be assigned to Safety Engineering, Safety Management, Emergency Preparedness, Industrial Hygiene, Employee Health, and Contractor Safety. A Safety Intern actively works with the Business Unit safety and health professionals along with operations in their designated operating areas to implement, update, and improve the safety management system. Position available Spring, Summer or Fall 2027 Minimum Qualifications Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology, Safety, Occupational Health, Emergency Preparedness, or Public Health. Must have completed 30 semester hours in the topics above. Overall GPA of 3.0 or above Job Duties Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology, Safety, Occupational Health, Emergency Preparedness, or Public Health. Must have completed 30 semester hours in the topics above. Overall GPA of 3.0 or above. Must have a valid driver's license.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card. The following link lists the eligible criteria for all persons trying to obtain a TWIC card: https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic Job Duties II Assist in field surveys/audits of business unit operations Assist in the development and implement processes for tracking and analyzing HSE data, to expand trending and reporting capabilities which help identify opportunities for improvement in these fields. Developing HSE posters, HSE moment, HSE flashes, and other HSE-related training materials. Assist in improvement initiatives around contractor HSE incident management and utilization of ISNetworld. Enter data into a central database Provide support for facility HSE Committee(s) / Team(s) Participate in HSE Management Systems review or facility's self-assessments.
