Archaea Energy, a bp company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas (RNG) producer in the US. With big ambitions, we specialize in the development, construction and operation of RNG, landfill-gas-to-electric and dairy digester facilities. The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline. About the role A Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator implements and manages safety programs to prevent accidents in industrial facilities by ensuring compliance with regulations like OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.119. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, implementing hazard control measures, coordinating safety training, and maintaining safety protocols and documentation. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as knowledge of process safety principles and regulations. Key accountabilities- Program management and compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain all 14 elements of the
OSHA PSM
standard.- Coordinate Risk Management Plan (RMP) activities in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Ensure that internal policies, procedures, and documentation meet all regulatory and corporate standards.
- Manage the process safety information (PSI) database, ensuring records are accurate and accessible.
- Serve as the main point of contact during regulatory audits by agencies like OSHA and the EPA.
- Risk assessment and analysis
- Coordinate and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including scheduling and leading revalidations.
- Administer the Management of Change (MOC) program, ensuring proper evaluation and documentation for all modifications to processes, equipment, or procedures.
- Ensure that Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) are conducted for new or modified equipment.
- Help facilitate or conduct other risk analyses, such as Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
- Incident investigation and reporting
- Participate in or lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for process-related incidents.
- Ensure all findings are documented and that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Track and report on site key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process safety.
- Training and awareness
- Coordinate and deliver PSM training for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of all PSM-related training.
- Promote a positive process safety culture throughout the facility. Compliance

- Work with plant personnel, management, and other stakeholders to improve safety culture and drive resolutions. Budgets
- Working with Regional Manager and engineering develop a budget for PSM activities, tracking throughout the year to stay on target.
