THE ROLE

We're hiring a full-time Construction Safety Trainer to own our high-hazard, competent-person course portfolio: Crane Rigging & Signal, Scaffolding, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Excavation. This is a field-facing role — you'll be in client training rooms and on active jobsites across the Southeast, teaching working crews, supervisors, and safety officers how to recognize the hazards that kill and apply the controls that prevent it. You'll be the technical specialist on our training bench, working alongside the trainer who owns equipment, First Aid/CPR, and leadership development. If you know these standards cold and can teach them to skeptical tradespeople, this seat is yours to own.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Deliver classroom and hands-on training to construction crews and management. Adapt curriculum to client jobsites, trades, and skill levels — practical, not academic. Conduct field hazard recognition, demonstrations, and competency evaluations. Help build and refine course content, exercises, and assessments. Represent UFSS professionally on client sites and reinforce our reputation for defensible, results-driven training. Occasionally lend technical credibility on client scoping calls.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required 5+ years hands-on construction experience. Competent-person or qualified-person experience in at least ONE of our priority areas: Crane Rigging & Signal, Scaffolding, or Confined Space (Fall Protection and Excavation experience is a plus). Working knowledge of

standards in your area(s). Experience teaching or leading others (trainer, foreman, superintendent, or crew lead). Willing to travel 25-50% across the Southeast, including overnight. Able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including climbing, working at height, entering permit-required confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time position, $75,000 to $95,000 per year depending on experience and credentials. This range is a good-faith estimate. It is not an offer of employment or a guarantee of any particular wage. Group health, dental, and vision coverage, with eligibility no later than the 90th day of employment. 80 hours (2 weeks) paid time off per year, plus 5 paid holidays. Paid parental leave (after 12 months of service), bereavement, jury duty, and military leave per company policy. Per diem and company-covered travel (lodging and fuel card) on overnight assignments. Certification and continuing-education reimbursement (e.g., OSHA 500, NCCCO renewals), at company discretion. Retirement contribution option.
