Safety Specialist Location:
Sturgis, SD 57785 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team in Sturgis, SD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves conducting safety inspections, training staff, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of the workplace. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and training sessions. Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety. Stay current with industry best practices and safety regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. Proven experience as a Safety Specialist or similar role. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards. Excellent communication and training skills. Ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) is a plus. Work Environment This position is based in Sturgis, SD, and may require travel to various job sites. The Safety Specialist will work closely with multiple departments to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
