This position is responsible for conducting jobsite safety inspections, providing safety training and retraining, completing safety plans and hazard analyses, conducting safety audits, tracking safety compliance, completing safety prequalification's and assisting the Company Safety Director with various safety initiatives. The Safety Technician will work closely with field personnel, technicians, foremen, supervisors, and management to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, customer requirements, and applicable safety standards. This position requires extensive travel throughout the year to Jolly Roofing jobsites and company locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct jobsite safety inspections for maintenance and commercial roofing projects. Identify unsafe conditions, potential hazards, safety violations and areas requiring corrective action. Communicate inspection findings and safety concerns to appropriate field and management personnel. Conduct follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions have been completed. Provide safety training and retraining to field personnel when necessary. Complete safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), hazard assessments, and other required safety documentation for maintenance and commercial projects. Conduct online safety audits for the Maintenance and Commercial departments. Prepare, distribute, and track weekly safety training materials and toolbox talks for field personnel. Send weekly training and toolbox talk materials to field personnel and receive completed documentation back for review and tracking. Track jobsite safety inspections, violations, corrective actions, and other safety-related activities by crew and technician. Monitor safety trends and recurring violations and assist with developing appropriate training or corrective actions. Complete safety prequalification's for customers, projects, and other company requirements. Maintain accurate and organized safety records, inspection documentation, training records, and compliance information. Assist with ensuring field personnel follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, customer safety requirements, and applicable regulations. Assist the Company Safety Director with safety programs, inspections, audits, training, documentation, prequalification's and other assigned safety-related tasks. Work directly with field personnel and management to communicate safety expectations and reinforce safe work practices. Assist with investigating and documenting safety concerns and incidents as directed. Support continuous improvement of Jolly Roofing's safety program and overall safety culture. Perform other safety-related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Working knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements and general construction safety practices. Strong understanding of jobsite hazard identification and safe work practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with field employees, supervisors, foremen, technicians, and management. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to conduct professional jobsite inspections and accurately document findings. Ability to identify hazards, recognize safety violations, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Ability to provide safety training and effectively communicate safety requirements to field personnel. Ability to manage multiple jobsites, inspections, training requirements, and deadlines. Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions in the field. Proficiency with computers, email, Microsoft Office, and online safety/audit systems. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record. Must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout the year. Physical Requirements & Work Environment This position requires frequent travel to active commercial roofing and construction jobsites. The Safety Technician may be required to walk jobsite areas, climb ladders, access elevated work areas, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and navigate active construction environments. The employee must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all applicable jobsite safety requirements. Travel Requirements Extensive travel is required throughout the year. Travel will include visits to Jolly Roofing jobsites, company locations and other locations as needed to conduct safety inspections, training, audits, prequalification's and other safety-related activities.
