This role is responsible for supporting driver safety, DOT compliance, accident prevention, documentation, inspections, training, and day-to-day safety procedures. The Safety Specialist will work closely with drivers, dispatch, operations, and management to make sure company safety standards are followed at all times. This position is important because safety is one of the biggest priorities at Silt Transportation. The right person must be organized, responsible, detail-oriented, and willing to hold people accountable. Key Responsibilities Monitor driver safety and compliance with company policies. Help maintain DOT, FMCSA, and internal safety records. Review driver logs, documents, inspections, and safety reports. Assist with accident and incident reports, investigations, and follow-ups. Make sure drivers complete required safety procedures and documentation. Help coordinate safety training for drivers and staff. Track vehicle inspection reports and communicate issues to the proper department. Support onboarding for new drivers with safety rules, policies, and expectations. Identify unsafe behaviors, missing documents, or compliance risks. Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and management. Help prepare for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews. Keep safety files organized and updated. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism. Requirements Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, or safety preferred. Knowledge of

DOT/FMCSA

regulations preferred. Strong attention to detail. Good communication skills. Organized and able to follow up consistently. Comfortable working with drivers and operations staff. Able to document issues clearly and professionally. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Basic computer skills required.
