Job Description

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Superintendent/Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to join our construction team in the Fredericksburg, TX area. This is a unique opportunity to lead complex projects where safety, quality, and client satisfaction are top priorities. What You'll Do As Superintendent/SSHO, reporting to the Project Manager, you will: Lead, schedule, coordinate, and supervise construction work, including subcontractor and employee activities. Oversee the project's safety program, ensuring compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety policies and procedures. Conduct daily safety inspections of trades and work areas, addressing unsafe conditions and behaviors promptly. Facilitate weekly toolbox talks and provide safety updates to clients during progress meetings. Plan and supervise subcontractor and craft activities, including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment needs, work schedules, and documenting hours worked. Coordinate work with other trades, company departments, or contractors. Review safety documentation to ensure records and reports are accurate and submitted per established procedures. Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning teams to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule. Identify and resolve construction challenges, including productivity issues, work interfaces, and conflicts in drawings or site conditions. Monitor compliance with safety and quality control requirements and implement corrective measures as needed. Assist Project Management with development of project execution schedules, site logistics, procedures, and standards. Monitor schedule progress daily, weekly, and monthly, and develop 4-week look-ahead schedules for review with the construction team and subcontractors. Requirements Minimum 10 years of experience as a Superintendent , including scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production across all phases of construction. At least 4 years of field or trade work experience in the construction industry. Minimum 5 years of experience managing construction safety , including OSHA 30 training and annual documented safety training. Knowledge of U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards. Experience with federal government clients (e.g., NPS, USACE) preferred. Experience with historical renovation work is a plus. Resume should indicate areas of expertise (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, materials, finishes, etc.).
