• Understanding of DOT regulation
• Must recruit, select, and monitor driver performance and DQ files
• Assists plans and implementing safety policies and procedures with local, state, and federal rules and regulations of Department of Transportation (DOT) to Ensure compliance regarding transportation and workplace safety.
• Monitoring driver qualification files and the hiring and selection process including orientation
• Reviewing hours of service records for accuracy
• Assuring the DOT drug/alcohol program is compliant with regulations (Clearinghouse)
• Work with the team to ensure compliance and demand maintenance are compliant Overseeing and implementing the elements of a Crash Management process including coordination of reporting, investigation, documentation, and management of incidents
• Review accident file contents for accuracy and documents needed
• Gatekeeper for accident-preventable decisions. Conducts post-accident investigations and prepares reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
• Assure proper accountability is delivered for preventable accidents
• Provide a comprehensive & accurate monthly report containing appropriate metrics
• Assists in the development, evaluation, and upgrading of safety programs
• Plans and implements training for drivers in worksite safety practices.
• Assure comprehensive orientation training is delivered to every active driver
• Assure vehicle inspection hands-on training is completed with every active driver Preferred experience
