POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Trainer develops, delivers, and evaluates safety training for employees working in electrical construction and related operations. This position supports a strong safety culture by providing practical, field-focused instruction, maintaining accurate training records, and helping employees understand and apply company policies, client requirements, and applicable safety regulations. The Safety Trainer works closely with Safety, Operations, Human Resources, and field leadership to address training needs and improve safe work practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and deliver new-hire safety orientation, refresher training, toolbox talks, and task-specific safety instruction for field and office employees. Provide training on electrical safety, hazard recognition, fall protection, personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout, ladders and scaffolds, excavation, confined spaces, material handling, mobile equipment, and emergency response, as applicable to the employee's work. Adapt training content for apprentices, journeymen, foremen, supervisors, project leaders, and other employee groups. Use classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, jobsite coaching, and digital learning tools to support employee understanding and retention. Evaluate employee knowledge and practical skills through written assessments, demonstrations, observations, and follow-up coaching. Maintain training rosters, qualification records, certifications, course materials, expiration dates, and other required documentation in company systems. Monitor training completion and notify leaders of missing, expired, or upcoming requirements. Review company policies, incident trends, audit findings, and field observations to identify training gaps and recommend corrective training. Partner with project safety personnel and operations leaders to schedule training with minimal disruption to project needs. Keep course content current with company requirements, client expectations, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Support incident-prevention initiatives, safety stand-downs, jobsite meetings, and other company safety programs. Conduct field visits to reinforce training, observe work practices, and provide constructive coaching to employees and leaders. Maintain training equipment, supplies, presentation materials, and assigned classroom areas in a professional and ready-to-use condition. Communicate clearly with employees whose experience, literacy, language, and technical knowledge may vary. Perform other safety and training duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED. Minimum of five years of construction safety, electrical construction, or closely related field experience. Demonstrated experience delivering safety training to adult learners in a classroom or field setting. Working knowledge of construction hazards, safe work practices, and OSHA construction standards. Ability to explain technical requirements in clear, practical language and confidently facilitate groups of different sizes. Strong organizational, documentation, follow-up, and time-management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, or similar business applications. Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements. Ability to travel to offices, training locations, and active jobsites, including occasional overnight travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or bachelor's degree in occupational safety, construction management, education, or a related field. Experience in commercial, industrial, mission-critical, data center, or other large-scale electrical construction environments. OSHA 500 or

OSHA 510

training. Authorized instructor credentials for first aid, CPR, AED, or other relevant safety courses. Certified Safety and Health Official, Construction Health and Safety Technician, Certified Instructional Trainer, or similar credential. Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
