Job Description
PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Join our team as a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will provide skilled, patient-centered treatment designed to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and the ability to safely perform activities of daily living.
ResponsibilitiesImplement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve patients strength, coordination, mobility, and functional independence.
Assist patients with developing or restoring skills needed for daily living and self-care.
Monitor patient progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and equipment use.
Follow infection-control practices and standard precautions during all patient-care activities.
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Support the agencys mission, policies, and standards of care.
QualificationsCurrent Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of practiceGraduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant programCurrent CPR certificationValid drivers license and automobile insuranceHome health or skilled nursing facility experience preferredHomecare Homebase experience preferredStrong communication, organizational, and documentation skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, and kneel as required when providing patient care.
Ability to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary.
