Job Description

The UT Health ET Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant plays a critical role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients within their home environments across the United States. This position focuses on assisting occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans that promote patients' independence and improve their ability to perform daily living activities. The assistant will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to monitor progress, adapt interventions, and ensure safety and comfort during therapy sessions. By providing compassionate and skilled support, the assistant helps enhance patients' quality of life and facilitates their return to meaningful activities. This role requires a commitment to patient-centered care, strong communication skills, and adherence to professional and ethical standards in home health settings. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will: Administers the Occupational Therapy treatment plan as developed by the Occupational Therapist. Applies concepts of infection control/universal precautions in performing patient care. Assure continuity of quality patient care delivered with appropriate documentation. Provide effective communication to patient/family, team members and other health care professionals. Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies. Requirements Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred CPR certification Valid Driver's License Valid Auto Insurance HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred Physical Demands Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, or kneel for extended periods. Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 lbs..
