Job Summary:
Leads Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support for Self-Perform Work (SPW) operations within assigned projects or business segments. Partners with SPW operations leadership to implement EHS programs, training, and compliance activities that reduce risk and protect the workforce. Manages field-level EHS professionals and supports consistent application of safety standards across SPW activities. Analyzes EHS performance data to support continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages implementation of EHS programs and initiatives supporting SPW operations in alignment with regional and enterprise standards. Oversees EHS professionals supporting SPW crews; provides direction, coaching, and performance management. Partners with SPW superintendents, foremen, and operations leaders to integrate EHS planning into daily and look-ahead work activities. Reviews risk assessments, audits, and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to support safe work practices and regulatory compliance. Manages incident investigations and corrective action tracking; supports communication of lessons learned. Monitors and analyzes EHS performance metrics to identify trends and recommend risk mitigation actions. Coordinates SPW EHS training, onboarding, and competency verification for craft and field leadership.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health, engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
6-8 years of experience in construction EHS required, including experience supporting self-perform crews. Prior experience providing work direction or supervising EHS staff required.
Certifications and Licenses:
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-Hour Construction Safety training required. First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required. Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred. Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) certification preferred.
