Job Description

Judge Direct Placement is seeking an EHS Manager in Montpelier, VT area!
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and support for all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities. Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs that promote compliance, safe work practices, and employee engagement. Drive a proactive safety culture through training, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct safety onboarding and required regulatory training. Partner with employees and leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions. Maintain EHS records, permits, and regulatory reporting requirements. Perform inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and reduce risk. Evaluate equipment and processes to improve safety, ergonomics, and operational effectiveness. Monitor and report EHS performance metrics and trends. Support compliance audits, regulatory inspections, and sustainability initiatives. Assist with workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention efforts. Stay current on EHS regulations and ensure ongoing compliance. Collaborate across departments to support business goals and employee well-being.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required 3+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and federal regulations. Ability to lead EHS programs and influence safety performance at all levels of an organization. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems. Ability to travel between facilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CHMM, or equivalent preferred. Experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Experience leading regulatory audits, environmental compliance programs, and safety management systems.
