Job Description
As a function of the Waupaca County Public Health Department this position enforces county health ordinances and performs inspections, consultations, and investigations associated with environmental health programs conducted by the department. This position applies environmental control measures to protect human health, safety, and welfare. This position works under the direct supervision of the Health Officer. Conducts various inspections, consultations and investigations of food facilities, campgrounds, lodging facilities, public pools, water attractions, body art facilities, and manufactured home communities to determine compliance with WI laws and local regulations. Maintain electronic and paper records related to inspections, consultations, investigations and permits by preparing various reports, analysis and correspondences in an accurate, organized and efficient manner. Collects, prepares, and analyzes drinking water samples. Conducts sanitary surveys and assessment evaluations of transient non-community well water systems. Performs inspections and provides consultation on a variety of environmental health issues including, but not limited to: drinking water quality, surface water quality, air quality, lead, radon, rabies control, vector control, and various health hazard complaints. Investigates human health hazards and works with Health Officer to write enforcement orders as necessary. Conducts educational activities within area of expertise. Participates in training of new staff.
