As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Security Specialist to join our team and contribute to our commitment to a safe, secure, and operationally excellent workplace. The Security Specialist serves as the site lead for physical security operations and access control, manages security systems and the contract security force, assesses security risks and applies security requirements across site procedures and training, leads security incident response and investigation, owns security performance indicators, and reports security status, issues, and improvement proposals to leadership.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the site lead for physical security operations, including perimeter protection, access control, visitor and contractor management, and after-hours coverage. Manage the contract security force, including post orders, coverage schedules, training, patrols, and vendor performance against contract requirements. Manage security systems and technology (access control, CCTV, intrusion and alarm systems, and visitor management tools), and coordinate maintenance, upgrades, and vendor support. Maintain a documented site security program aligned with corporate, customer, and regulatory requirements, and keep security policies, procedures, and records under document control. Monitor security controls through inspections, drills, system testing, and log and footage reviews. Identify gaps, lead root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to closure. Respond to and investigate security incidents such as unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and threats. Preserve evidence, document findings, and coordinate with management, Human Resources, Legal, and law enforcement as appropriate. Coordinate with the EHS team and emergency response personnel on emergency action plans, evacuation and lockdown procedures, and drills. Establish and track security KPIs, maintain reporting dashboards, and act on adverse trends with the responsible teams. Report to leadership on incidents, risks, KPI performance, and open issues. Escalate significant matters promptly and present improvement proposals with scope, resource needs, and expected benefit.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Security management experience, or a related field (relevant work experience or military or law enforcement service may be considered as an alternate). Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or corporate security, including access control, patrol operations, and incident response. Demonstrated experience conducting security incident investigations and preparing clear, factual written reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report and procedure preparation, and the ability to explain security requirements clearly to teams at all levels. Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, including building presentations for leadership and analyzing data. Ability to respond to after-hours incidents and to work flexible hours as operational needs require. Proactive, self-directed work style with strong ownership and follow-through.
