PHYSICAL SECURITY
SPECIALIST, GS-0080-9, you will perform the following duties: 1. Responsible for the management and administrion of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) program. Advises the
MAJCOM SF IDS
program manager of any base or site activities th will impact the Integred Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS) program. This includes, but is not limited to, mission changes resulting in increase or decrease of resources, reconfigurion of resource areas, and construction of facilities on or in the vicinity of current and planned sensor locions. Reports and documents all IDS maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organizion. Monitors IDS false and nuisance alarms and, when necessary, requests assistance from the maintenance organizion to resolve problems and deficiency. Coordines with maintenance and meriel management functions to ensure sufficient spare parts and maintenance are available to support the IBDSS equipment and component. Maintains Technical Orders and commercial manuals th describe equipment components and opering procedures for IDS in use. Develops local training for system operors. Assists the standardizion and evaluion section in developing certificion standards for system operors. 2. Responsible for the management and administrion of the physical access control systems (i.e. Defense Biometrics Identificion System - DBIDS). Manages entry control point (ECP) reled applicions associed with DBIDS and the Air Force Justice Informion System (AFJIS). Manages the functional and operional sustainment of all da processing programs such as DBIDS, AFJIS, and other systems installed and/or programmed for the ECP. Produces and maintains and reled reports for command echelon personnel. Provides feedback to supervisor regarding identified or perceived base access vulnerabilities with recommendions for their mitigion. Reviews the operional stus of sensor subsystems ensuring all required testing procedures are followed. Researches, interprets, and analyzes guidelines to ensure all work complies with legal and regulory requirements. Performs additional reled duties as required or directed. Develops goals and objectives th integre organizion and squadron objectives. 3. Performs administrive office support functions and develops, coordines, and publishes all SF installion level publicions to include the Installion Security Plan, the Installion Security Instruction, and SF annexes to all installion plans. 4. Performs installion security duties. Leads and manages SF programs designed to provide a secure mission environment. Establishes requirements for police services, physical security, and Anti-Terrorism programs. Establishes liaison between SF and civilian law enforcement agencies. 5. Manages police services. Develops and writes localized SF policies and procedures. Manages installion entry control, or center operions, and special functions/events. Administers and manages Resource Protection and Crime Prevention programs. 6. Manages Air Force Justice Informion System (AFJIS). 7. Performs and enforces the full range of SF duties within the military installion. Apprehend and detain violors of laws, rules, and regulions and turn them over to the Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers for arrest and posting of colleral. 8.
