Lead a Multi-Department Building Technologies Operation DAC is seeking an accomplished General Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for our Houston operation across Building Automation Systems (BAS), Security/Access Control, Service, and Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB) . This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for the overall performance, profitability, and continued growth of the Houston business. The General Manager will lead across operations, sales, project execution, service, customer relationships, workforce development, and financial performance , with direct accountability for bookings, revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction. We're looking for an experienced building technologies leader who understands both the technical and business sides of the industry and has the leadership ability to bring multiple departments together around common business objectives. What You'll Lead As General Manager, you will: Own overall Houston business performance across bookings, revenue, earnings, profitability, and customer satisfaction . Provide strategic and operational leadership across Building Automation, Security/Access Control, Service, and TAB . Develop and execute annual operating, profit, and strategic plans in partnership with the President and executive leadership. Lead and develop departmental and operational management while creating accountability for business results. Provide leadership across sales, operations, engineering, project management, installation, commissioning, service, and other business functions. Forecast and coordinate manpower, materials, cash requirements, and operational resources across the Houston operation. Monitor branch and departmental bookings against sales forecasts, financial plans, and established business objectives. Evaluate organizational structure and staffing requirements as business conditions and growth needs evolve. Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing managers and employees. Establish quarterly business goals and communicate expectations throughout the management team. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with building owners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and other key customers and partners throughout the Houston market. Support the development and delivery of turnkey building technology solutions, including engineering, implementation, construction management, system maintenance, service, and ongoing customer support. Maintain oversight of project performance and actively protect established profit margins throughout project execution. Review and approve new contracts, ensuring commercial terms, costs, risk, profitability, and available resources align with company expectations. Identify opportunities for new products, services, technologies, processes, and operating practices that improve efficiency, quality, safety, and profitability. Drive collaboration between departments to maximize customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional project and service revenue. Build and reinforce a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, operational excellence, and continuous improvement . What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced leader within the Building Automation, HVAC Controls, Security/Access Control, TAB, or Professional Building Services industry who understands how to lead multiple departments as one cohesive business operation. This position requires more than project or departmental management. We're looking for a leader who can evaluate the entire business— people, customers, operations, sales, financial performance, project execution, risk, and long-term growth —and make decisions that move the organization forward. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5+ years of management experience involving the engineering, installation, operations, and/or service of building technology systems. Strong understanding of construction, service, and project-based businesses. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, develop, coach, and manage people. Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to understand revenue, profitability, forecasting, manpower planning, and operational performance. Industry knowledge necessary to evaluate project and business risk and make sound decisions. General understanding of construction contracts, commercial terms, taxes, and contract risk. Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, coaching, and presentation skills. Ability to lead across multiple departments while balancing strategic objectives with day-to-day operational requirements. Strongly Preferred 10+ years of experience within Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, Access Control/Security, TAB, or Professional Building Services . 6+ years of progressive operations leadership experience. Experience with P&L responsibility and branch, regional, or business-unit leadership . Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across operations, sales, project management, engineering, installation, commissioning, and service. Experience managing multiple departments or business units with individual operational and financial objectives. Established knowledge of the Houston commercial construction and building technologies market. MBA or advanced business degree. Who Should Consider This Opportunity?
