Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. Security Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will support the implementation of government security policies, procedures, and requirements for Special Access Programs (SAPs) within the organization. This role assists in protecting highly sensitive information, maintaining compliance with government and company regulations, and promoting a strong culture of security awareness. Responsibilities Assist in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining security protocols for Special Access Programs. Support the development and enforcement of SAP Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Assist in conducting security briefings, debriefings, and training for SAP personnel. Support the management of access control and visitor management for SAP facilities. Help prepare, send, and receive visitor certifications. Assist in receiving, distributing, inventorying, reproducing, and disposing of classified materials in accordance with policy. Support audits and inspections to help ensure compliance with DoD and company policies. Periodically assist in inspecting facilities/spaces to support compliance with physical security measures. Interface, under supervision, with government customers, program managers, and internal staff regarding SAP security issues. Assist in coordinating incident response and reporting for security violations or concerns. Maintain accurate records for personnel security, visit requests, and SAP documentation. Qualifications U.S. citizenship and a Top-Secret clearance SCI with eligibility. High School Diploma (associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred). 1-3 years of experience in security programs; exposure to SAPs or SCI environments is a plus. Foundational knowledge or familiarity with DoD, NISPOM, and ICD security requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Relevant or entry-level security certifications (e.g., SPeD, Security+ or similar) are a plus, with willingness to pursue additional professional certifications (e.g., SPeD, ISP, CPP) over time.
