Job Description

Security Manager Viking Village Inc. Position Summary The Security Manager is responsible for overseeing all security operations for Viking Village Inc., including the grocery store, liquor store, convenience store, restaurant, rental properties, and all other Company operations. This position is responsible for protecting Company assets, employees, customers, and property through proactive security measures, surveillance, investigations, loss prevention, policy development, and collaboration with management. The Security Manager is expected to identify, deter, investigate, and prevent theft, fraud, and other security risks while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality. This position is one of trust and requires the highest level of discretion and ethical conduct in all aspects of its responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee all Company security operations, including physical security, access control, alarm systems, surveillance equipment, routine security inspections, and foot patrols of Company properties. Conduct visible foot patrols and, when appropriate, perform covert surveillance and investigative activities to identify suspicious activity, deter theft, and protect Company assets. Manage, review, preserve, and maintain CCTV footage, investigative records, evidence, and documentation related to security incidents, customer complaints, accidents, liability claims, and investigations. Conduct objective investigations involving employee misconduct, policy violations, workplace incidents, payroll discrepancies, fraud, retail theft, and other Company-related incidents. Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and present factual findings and supporting documentation to Company management for review. Conduct regular security assessments of Company facilities, operations, and practices to identify vulnerabilities, recommend improvements, reduce risk, strengthen loss prevention and workplace safety efforts. Respond to security incidents, emergencies, workplace safety concerns, and after-hours incidents or telephone calls as business needs require. Work collaboratively with Company management to develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, employee training, and best practices that protect Company assets, employees, customers, and property. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling investigations, surveillance footage, personnel matters, Company records, and other sensitive information, disclosing information only to authorized individuals with a legitimate business need. Appear in court, administrative hearings, unemployment proceedings, insurance matters, or other legal proceedings as required to provide factual testimony and documentation regarding investigations conducted on behalf of the Company. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Company's security, safety, and loss prevention objectives. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in law enforcement, corporate security, investigations, retail loss prevention, or a related field preferred. Prior first responder experience is preferred. Valid Wisconsin driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Strong investigative, analytical, interviewing, and report writing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, vendors, insurance representatives, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and the general public. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain strict confidentiality, and handle sensitive information with professionalism and integrity. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Company management, employees, law enforcement agencies, and other business partners. Ability to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours incidents or telephone calls as business needs require. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, surveillance systems, and other technology used in security and investigations.
