As a Security Officer Full Time Armed Mobile Patrol in Birmingham, AL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a public transportation location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication to passengers, employees, and visitors. PM What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or public agency personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, parking areas, platforms, vehicles, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting law enforcement, medical, and/or supervisory support as needed. Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry, and document observations, incidents, and unusual activity in accordance with site procedures. Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site-specific procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
Possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit. Have at least one year of security-related experience. CPR certification is preferred. An armed guard card or license is preferred. Handcuffing certification is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
