Job Overview The Facility Security Deputy maintains a safe and secure environment for County employees, officials, court personnel, jurors, attorneys, and the public. This position performs security patrols, monitors surveillance and alarm systems, screens individuals and belongings entering County facilities, identifies and responds to safety or security concerns, and takes appropriate enforcement action when necessary. The Facility Security Deputy works under the Captain's supervision and performs duties in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic security and safety procedures. Skill in operating security screening and surveillance equipment. Ability to identify and respond to potential safety and security threats. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, officials, and the public. Ability to remain alert, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately in emergencies. Minimum Qualifications Law enforcement certification Basic Computer Skills High school diploma or GED, with related security, law enforcement, court security, or equivalent training preferred.
