Private Security Officer

About the Role Looking for a stable position in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting? We are currently hiring a dependable and professional Unarmed Security Officer to support operations at Garvan Woodland Gardens, a highly recognized botanical garden and event destination managed by the University of Arkansas. This position involves maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for daily visitors, private events, and special gatherings. Ideal candidates will bring a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset. Dynamic Integrated Security provides the necessary training for state-required licensing as a Private Security Officer (PSO) or Commissioned Security Officer (CSO), in accordance with Arkansas regulations. ________________________________________ Primary Duties Perform routine patrols across gardens, trails, parking areas, and event locations Manage entry points and monitor guest access Conduct security checks of facilities, including restrooms and buildings Complete opening and closing procedures as assigned Respond appropriately to incidents such as medical situations, weather events, or safety concerns Work alongside local authorities and emergency personnel when required Offer courteous assistance and directions to visitors Document daily activities and complete incident reports Assist with event security, including private functions and weddings Monitor compliance with alcoholrelated policies during events ________________________________________ Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required Background in security, military, or law enforcement is a plus Basic Requirements (Unarmed Role) Must hold or be able to obtain an Arkansas PSO license Minimum age: 18 years Valid Arkansas driver's license CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Clean criminal record Legal authorization to work in the U.S. ________________________________________ Preferred Background Military or law enforcement experience Corrections or private security roles Experience in event venues or hospitality environments Strong report writing and documentation skills ________________________________________ Core Competencies High level of awareness and attention to surroundings Clear verbal and written communication Professional interaction with guests and staff Experience with foot and mobile patrols Ability to accurately document incidents Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions ________________________________________ Additional Expectations Must pass background screening and drug test Maintain compliance with Arkansas licensing requirements Adhere to uniform and appearance standards Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand and walk for extended periods ________________________________________ What We Provide Competitive hourly pay based on experience Consistent, yearround scheduling Overtime opportunities during peak seasonal events Supportive leadership team Work environment at a highly regarded public venue Opportunities for professional growth within the company ________________________________________ Work Location Onsite - Hot Springs, Arkansas Why Join Us?
