Jefferson Regional Security Department Job Summary:
The Shift Leader of the Security Department is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all security operations during their assigned shift. They ensure the safety and security of hospital staff, patients, visitors, and property, as well as ensuring compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and emergency procedures. The Shift Leader acts as a point of contact for all security staff on their shift and provides leadership, guidance, and support to ensure an effective security presence throughout the hospital.
Shift Leader Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or other related field preferred. Must obtain a degree in related subject within the first 2 years.
BLS/CPR required upon hire or obtained within first 30 days of hire.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years experience in a security departmentStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressureStrong knowledge of security protocols, safety procedures, and emergency response strategiesProficiency in using security technology such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and communication equipment
Preferred Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years experience in a hospital security departmentManagement or Leadership experience
