Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of campus grounds, buildings, and access points to deter unauthorized activity and ensure safety compliance. Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to identify potential threats or suspicious behavior. Control access to campus facilities using access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations for students, staff, visitors, and contractors. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or security breaches following established emergency response procedures. Write detailed incident reports documenting security events, accidents, or violations with clarity and accuracy. Perform background checks on new staff or vendors as part of the campus security screening process. Assist in conflict de-escalation efforts and manage difficult situations with professionalism and calmness. Requirements Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields with familiarity in physical security practices. Knowledge of surveillance technology, access control systems, incident report writing, and emergency response procedures. Certifications in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, Taser use, firearm handling (if applicable), and conflict management are highly desirable. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and maintaining physical security through patrolling and physical presence. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse campus populations. Demonstrated ability to perform background checks accurately and adhere strictly to security regulations and compliance standards. Capable of performing heavy lifting when necessary and responding swiftly during emergencies with professionalism.
