Owner / Field Supervisor Position Summary The Security Officer / Gate Attendant is responsible for controlling access to a private residential community, monitoring site security, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, guests, vendors, contractors, and visitors. This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures while working independently. Essential Job Functions Control and monitor access to the community in accordance with established policies and procedures. Verify resident, visitor, contractor, vendor, and service provider authorization using access control systems, resident databases, identification documents, and other approved methods. Operate gates, telephones, computers, visitor management systems, surveillance equipment, and related security technology. Maintain accurate visitor logs, incident reports, activity reports, and other required documentation. Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, rule violations, property damage, and security concerns. Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, alarms, resident concerns, and requests for assistance. Conduct site inspections and patrols as assigned. Coordinate access for emergency responders, law enforcement, fire personnel, and other authorized individuals. Provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with residents, guests, vendors, contractors, management, and company personnel. Protect confidential and sensitive information obtained during the course of employment. Follow all company policies, site post orders, safety procedures, HOA rules, and applicable laws. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid California Guard Card required or ability to obtain prior to assignment. Prior security, customer service, access control, concierge, or gate attendant experience preferred. Basic computer skills and ability to learn site-specific software systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions in accordance with established procedures. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the workday. Ability to observe activity at varying distances and read identification documents, computer screens, and written materials. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, email, and radio. Ability to occasionally bend, reach, stoop, climb stairs, and lift or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Work Environment Residential community environment. Combination of gatehouse, patrol, office, and outdoor work. Exposure to varying weather conditions, vehicle traffic, pedestrians, and routine operational noise. May require work during evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on operational needs.
