Schedule:
16-40 hours per week. Part-time assignments with the opportunity to move into full-time work based on performance, attendance, availability, and client needs. Valcor Group is hiring professional Armed Security Officers for corporate and commercial security assignments in Hawthorne. This position is for experienced officers who understand that armed security requires sound judgment, restraint, excellent communication, accurate reporting, and complete compliance with California law, BSIS requirements, company policy, and client post orders. Key Responsibilities Maintain a professional, visible, and customer-conscious armed security presence. Control access and verify employees, visitors, vendors, and authorized personnel. Conduct interior and exterior patrols and monitor assigned areas. Observe, document, and report incidents, hazards, and unusual activity. Use verbal de-escalation and sound judgment to resolve situations safely. Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents according to post orders. Complete clear, accurate, and timely daily activity and incident reports. Coordinate professionally with client management, Valcor operations, law enforcement, fire, and emergency personnel when required. Protect confidential information, client property, personnel, and sensitive operations. Maintain assigned uniform, equipment, firearm, and duty gear in inspection-ready condition. Mandatory Compliance Requirements Active California BSIS Guard Card in good standing. Active California BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit in good standing. Current BSIS firearms qualification and requalification for every caliber carried while on duty. Legally eligible to possess, carry, and use a firearm in California. All required BSIS training, permits, and supporting documentation must be current and verifiable before assignment. Ability to pass Valcor and client-required background screening. Ability to comply with all firearm-storage, transportation, uniform, equipment, reporting, and post-order requirements. Reliable transportation, dependable attendance, and a working mobile phone. Availability for assigned day, swing, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of security experience. Prior armed-security, corporate-security, military, or law-enforcement experience. Strong access-control, patrol, CCTV, incident-response, and report-writing experience. Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification. Strong customer service, verbal communication, and conflict de-escalation skills. Safety and Professional Standards Valcor officers are expected to prevent and de-escalate whenever reasonably possible. Any use of force must be lawful, necessary, proportionate, within training, and fully compliant with Valcor policy and client post orders. Unauthorized weapon use, unsafe firearm handling, falsification of reports, harassment, discrimination, sleeping on duty, abandonment of post, or failure to report an incident may result in immediate removal from assignment.
