Join our dynamic team at The Sentinel Group as an Event Guard in Oceanside, where your vigilance and dedication will ensure the safety and security of all event attendees, staff, and property. We provide guarding for events like G league Basketball, Hockey, SD Sockers, Lacrosse, concerts, boxing, and lots more. This role is vital in maintaining a secure environment during various events, utilizing your expertise in surveillance, physical security, and emergency response. As an Event Guard, you will be the frontline protector, proactively monitoring event premises, managing access control, and responding swiftly to any incidents. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will help create memorable experiences for everyone involved while upholding the highest standards of security compliance. Responsibilities Conduct thorough surveillance using CCTV systems and perform regular patrols of event areas to identify and address potential security threats. Manage access control by verifying identities, credentials, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter designated zones. Respond promptly to emergencies by executing established procedures such as first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols. Write detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, disturbances, or safety hazards encountered during shifts. Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of equipment or barriers to support event setup or crowd management. up to 50 pounds De-escalate conflicts through effective conflict management techniques while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. Enforce security regulations by monitoring crowd behavior, preventing unauthorized access, and managing conflict de-escalation situations with tact and authority. Operate access control systems and CCTV equipment efficiently to monitor activity across multiple locations within the event site. Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary to ensure swift resolution of incidents or safety concerns. Conduct routine patrols on foot or via vehicle around the event premises to maintain a visible security presence. Experience Prior experience in security roles such as law enforcement, military service, or private security is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of surveillance techniques including CCTV operation and incident report writing. Training or certification with a guard card, first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures is preferred. Familiarity with access control systems and physical security measures is essential for effective patrols and monitoring. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to enforce compliance with security regulations. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks required during event setup or crowd control. Excellent customer service skills combined with a proactive attitude towards maintaining a safe environment for all attendees. Pay:
$19.50 - $22.00 per hour
