JOB SUMMARY

The Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) is responsible for the effective management and coordination of maritime security at the Port Facility, ensuring compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and the Company's security standards. The PFSO will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP), coordinate security risk management and protective measures, and provide assurance that the Port Facility remains secure, resilient, compliant, and prepared to respond effectively to evolving maritime security threats, incidents, and emergencies. The role will also serve as a key liaison between the Company, the Designated Authority, law enforcement agencies, vessel representatives, port users, contractors, and other maritime security stakeholders.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A

relevant tertiary qualification in Security Management, Maritime Security, Port Operations, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related discipline. Recognised

PFSO/ISPS

Code training and certification (IMO Compliant). Knowledge of applicable Trinidad and Tobago maritime security and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant security management, surveillance, access control, and reporting systems. A valid driver's licence and the ability to operate effectively in both landside and waterside/port environments.

EXPERIENCE

Relevant experience in port or maritime security AND, energy-sector, industrial, or critical infrastructure security Demonstrated experience in security risk assessment, incident management, investigations, audits, emergency exercises, and security operations. Sound knowledge of the ISPS Code, PFSP requirements, port security operations, and applicable regulatory requirements. Any Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement, maintain, review, and update the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) and associated procedures to ensure compliance with the ISPS Code and applicable maritime security requirements. Conduct and monitor security risk assessments to identify threats, vulnerabilities, changes in security levels, and appropriate mitigation measures. Conduct periodic security inspections and coordinate audits, assessments, drills, and exercises to verify the effectiveness and compliance of security arrangements. Oversee port facility access control, surveillance, patrols, perimeter protection, marine security operations, and other protective security measures. Monitor the effectiveness and operational readiness of security technologies and systems supporting surveillance, access control, communications, and maritime security operations. Coordinate the response to security incidents, breaches, threats, and emergencies and support associated notifications, investigations, reporting, and recovery activities. Coordinate marine security activities within the limits of the Port Facility and oversee the readiness, maintenance, and serviceability of Security Launches and associated resources. Maintain effective liaison with the Designated Authority, Coast Guard, Police Service, Customs and Excise, Port Health, vessel representatives, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure employees, security personnel, contractors, and other relevant persons receive appropriate ISPS awareness, security training, drills, exercises, and competency development. Monitor contracted security service providers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, PFSP requirements, regulatory standards, and established security procedures. Maintain accurate and current security records, incident reports, declarations, logs, assessments, training records, and other documentation required for effective security management and regulatory compliance. Review incidents, inspections, audits, assessments, and exercises to identify deficiencies and implement corrective and preventive actions that strengthen security effectiveness and resilience. Ensure security activities are conducted in accordance with applicable HSEQ standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Provide timely security advice, reports, and recommendations to the Security Lead and undertake other duties consistent with the purpose of the role.
