Job Summary Full Time Position Wednesday through Saturday Shifts 1:00pm - 9:30pm $21.00/Hr. We are seeking a dynamic and vigilant Security Officer to safeguard the shopping center environment, ensuring the safety and security of all visitors, staff, and property. This role involves proactive patrols, surveillance, access control, and incident management to maintain a secure shopping experience. Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of the shopping center premises, including retail areas, parking lots, and service zones to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras to identify suspicious activity or security breaches in real-time. Manage access control systems to verify identities of employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. Respond swiftly to emergency situations by executing established emergency response procedures including fire alarms, medical incidents, or security threats. Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events with clarity and accuracy for future reference. Perform background checks on potential employees or vendors as part of compliance procedures when necessary. Utilize conflict de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety for all parties involved. Experience Previous experience in security roles within retail environments or similar settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of physical security practices including patrolling, manual handling, and heavy lifting. Familiarity with surveillance technology such as CCTV systems and access control systems. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications like AED operation or Taser use are advantageous. Background in law enforcement or military service can be beneficial due to experience with emergency response procedures and incident management. Demonstrated ability to perform background checks and ensure compliance with security regulations. Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to handle stressful situations professionally are essential for success in this role.
