This position is responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure facility by screening individuals entering the building, monitoring entrances, identifying prohibited items, and providing professional assistance to employees and visitors. This is a good opportunity for candidates with security, customer service, military, public safety, or similar experience. Key Responsibilities Screen individuals entering the facility. Operate walk-through and handheld metal detection equipment. Inspect bags, packages, and personal belongings as required. Identify and prevent prohibited items from entering secured areas. Monitor entrances, exits, and assigned security areas. Maintain awareness of activity around the screening area. Provide clear and courteous instructions to visitors. Respond appropriately to alarms, incidents, and security concerns. Contact supervisors or appropriate personnel when assistance is required. Maintain accurate incident and activity reports. Follow established security, safety, and emergency procedures. Maintain a professional appearance and respectful attitude while interacting with the public. Perform other security-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred. Security or customer service experience preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift. Ability to stand and work at a screening station for extended periods. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be dependable and able to report to scheduled shifts on time. Must be able to successfully complete required background and employment screening. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to complete required job-specific training. Preferred Experience Previous experience in security, access control, screening, corrections, military service, law enforcement, public safety, or customer-facing environments is helpful but not required for otherwise qualified candidates.
