Security Guard Position Job brief We are seeking a dependable, professional, and service-oriented Security Officer to join our team serving a premier private gated community in Parker, Colorado. This is more than a traditional security guard position. Our Security Officers are often the first point of contact for residents, members, guests, vendors, and service providers entering the community. The successful candidate must be able to balance security, access control, situational awareness, and exceptional customer service while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor at all times. The primary responsibilities of this position include processing and verifying visitors, controlling access to the community, responding to security-related requests, conducting patrols when authorized, documenting incidents, monitoring security systems, and maintaining a highly visible security presence.

7:00 AM•7:00 PM Candidates must be dependable and capable of reliably reporting for scheduled shifts in Parker, Colorado, including during inclement weather. Responsibilities Provide professional access control at the community's secured entrance. Greet and assist residents, members, guests, vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel in a courteous and professional manner. Verify and accurately process visitors using the EntranceIQ access-control system. Maintain awareness of activity occurring at and around community entrances. Monitor and control access to community property. Maintain a visible security presence to help deter unsafe, suspicious, or unauthorized activity. Respond appropriately to security-related calls, concerns, alarms, and incidents. Observe for indications of criminal activity, suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or disturbances and take appropriate action. Contact law enforcement, fire, EMS, or other emergency services when circumstances require. Conduct vehicle patrols of community roads and designated areas when authorized. Observe and report unsafe driving behavior, suspicious vehicles, road hazards, property damage, and other community safety concerns. Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other security-related technology. Maintain accurate notes and complete clear, detailed, and professional incident reports. Immediately communicate significant incidents or safety concerns to appropriate personnel. Protect community property and act within the scope of training, policy, and applicable law. Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, guests, security procedures, and community information. Work cooperatively with fellow Security Officers and community leadership. Perform other security and community-safety duties as assigned. Requirements The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, observant, professional, calm under pressure, and comfortable interacting with the public. This position requires the ability to operate effectively in a high operational tempo environment . Visitor and guest traffic can increase rapidly, and Security Officers must be capable of maintaining accuracy, situational awareness, professional communication, and excellent customer service even during sustained periods of high-volume activity. Security Officers must also be competent and confident working independently when necessary . At times, an Officer may be responsible for independently managing gate operations, processing visitors and guests, verifying access authorization, answering questions, monitoring surrounding activity, and making appropriate security-related decisions without immediate assistance from another Officer. The ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, exercise sound judgment, follow established procedures, and remain composed without constant supervision is essential to success in this position.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form. Ability to accurately document incidents and unusual occurrences. Ability to reliably commute to Parker, Colorado for all scheduled shifts. Preferred Qualifications Previous security, law enforcement, military, public safety, access-control, or related professional experience. Previous experience working in a gated community, residential community, hospitality environment, or other customer-facing security position. Experience with electronic access-control systems, surveillance cameras, or security technology. CPR/AED or First Aid certification. Colorado POST certification or previous law-enforcement training is welcomed but not required . Candidates with strong customer-service backgrounds who demonstrate professionalism, dependability, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
